TALCOTT WATERCOLOR NOTECARDS
In 1840 and 1841, four different surveying teams traveled along the border regions of Maine, making notes about the landscape, watersheds, and mountain ranges. They painted a series of watercolors to document their observations. These images were drawn using a camera lucida - an optical device that allowed the artist to make an accurate tracing of landscape features. Four of these scenic watercolors are reproduced onto notecards. Packet contains 8 notecards (2 of each design), and 8 envelopes.
