Built by the New England Shipbuilding Company for the International Steamboat Company in Bath, this wooden steam-powered side-wheel vessel traveled the "inside" coastal line of Boston, Bangor, and Mount Desert, with occasional trips to St. John, New Brunswick. The "State of Maine" plied the Atlantic coast until 1924.

Originally painted in oil on canvas in 1892 by Antonio Jacobson, the S.S. Maine was done in profile in order to capture the greatest amount of detail. The simplicity of the setting is characteristic of Jacobson's work.

This high-quality, limited edition reproduction is printed on acid-free paper. 19" x 28". Mailed rolled in tube with a detailed history of the ship.
