The S.S. State of Maine was built in Bath, Maine in 1881. Originally painted in oil on canvas by Jacobson in 1892 at his studio in West Hoboken, New Jersey, the S.S. State of Maine is done in profile in order to capture the greatest amount of detail. The simplicity of the setting is characteristic of Jacobsen's work. Printed on heavy weight paper 22" x 36". Shipped in a mailing tube with a brief history sheet.
